Raised in severe poverty by a mother working multiple jobs, an athletic underdog secretly earns top selection in the national draft. When mandatory pre-draft isolation keeps him from communicating, greedy relatives spread slanderous rumors that turn the community against his mother.
Malicious kin assault her and plunder her home, convinced the young player is ruined. However, his triumphant return exposes every hypocrite, setting the stage for a dramatic reckoning when his estranged father suddenly reappears to claim credit for his glory.
