Enduring years of icy disdain in an arranged marriage to a military warlord, the mute bride risked her life to protect him from palace assassins.

During a turbulent military era, Commander Holden Vance searches for his lost childhood companion while being forced to wed the mute Cora Lockwood. Treating his quiet bride with cold disdain, Holden falls prey to his deceptive cousin Clarissa, who falsely claims to be his long-lost love while framing Cora for treason.

Subjected to relentless domestic humiliation that costs her unborn child, Cora's devotion turns to despair. When Clarissa orchestrates an armed ambush to assassinate Holden, Cora shields the commander from incoming gunfire, leaving him drowning in remorse while she prepares to walk away under drifting blossoms.
