Their Brother, the Dragon Sacrifice

Tormented by an ungrateful foster household and constantly framed by his malicious stepbrother Dorian, Alistair chooses to become the kingdom's sacrificial tribute to a monstrous beast rather than endure another day of cruelty. When he enters the dragon's territory expecting a gruesome demise, the colossal reptiles bow before him, acknowledging him as their missing royal bloodline. Crowned as the true Dragon King, Alistair returns in power to claim sovereign authority across the realm. Confronted by his astonished adoptive kin who suddenly plead for his mercy, the newly elevated ruler treats their desperate apologies with chilly indifference, choosing to stand proudly with dragon commander Sule to forge his own destiny.
