The Joke Was Real to Me

During what should be a solemn wedding ceremony, a brash rival seizes the bridal bouquet and publicly jokes about running off with the groom. As the oblivious guests and the groom's mother laugh along, the disillusioned bride reaches her breaking point over years of disrespectful humor. Stepping up to the microphone, she announces that the woman can keep him and walks out on the man her late parents once died rescuing. Her former partner retaliates with fraudulent financial charges and fabricated media smears that ruin her career. Gathering evidence of his misdeeds, she delivers a decisive blow at the authorities' headquarters while stepping into a brighter future.
