Visited by a benevolent deity in a dream, an impoverished young wife discovers a miraculous celestial peach growing in her courtyard. When her greedy in-laws consume the supernatural fruit, they inadvertently produce a solid ingot of gold, sparking manic avarice throughout the household.
Desperate to secure medical funds for her ailing mother, the mistreated woman eats a portion of the fruit, only to endure physical torment from relatives demanding more bullion. Pushed beyond endurance by their violence and gambling, she divorces her abusive spouse to build an independent life.
