Esther spent five torturous years enduring infidelity, physical cruelty, and the tragic loss of her daughter at the hands of her cruel spouse Carl. On the evening of their anniversary, an explosive altercation results in Carl's sudden death, leaving Esther in pure panic as she conceals his corpse beneath the dirt of their backyard.
She wakes the next morning expecting the police, only to find Carl standing in the kitchen, cooking breakfast with the gentle tenderness he possessed when they first dated. Trapped in a psychological nightmare with this uncanny duplicate, Esther must uncover whether her tormentor miraculously survived or an impostor has assumed his life.
