I Gave My Flame Up

Years ago, a noble dragon maiden sacrificed half of her primordial flame to save her dying mate, feigning an affair with his sibling so he would hate her and let her depart. Stripped of the ability to shift into her beast form and slowly fading, she attends the great clan summit merely to catch one final glimpse of him.

Seeing him escorted by another woman, she quietly prepares for her quiet demise in the shadows. But when the truth of her noble sacrifice is finally proclaimed to the assembly, the grief-stricken warlord risks everything to reunite their flames and claim his true bonded mate.
